Filthy Little Regrets (Princes of NYC #2) by Daria Quinn

Find a wife, or watch my sisters pay the price. That's the ultimatum from my cruel father. None of the women he has in mind interest me, and the only one I want hates me. But fate intervenes when Cassia witnesses a crime that could cost her life...and I'm the only one who can save her. In the world of the rich and powerful, wives are protected, and I've just found a solution to both of our problems. I've wanted Cassia for years. And now, she's mine. Filthy Little Regrets by Daria Quinn will be published on June 26th, 2025. This is the second book in Princes of NYC series.

I received this book for my honest review from The Smuthood and from Daria Quinn. I didn't read the first book of the series but this is a good stand-alone book. I absolutely loved this book so much that I will be reading book one in the near future. This book had me giggle at some of the antics between the two main characters. I absolutely loved the main characters Mace and Cassia. They were so unique in their own selves but also their personalities matched what you knew of their past. They were so rounded that it was easy to see who they were. Cassia and Mace relationship was fun to watch grow and involve into something serious. As Cassia was not a fan of Mace from the get go. The smut in this book was great but it wasn't in your face through the book. Their conversation throughout the book made me giggle throughout and how Cassia was the perfect strength to be a long side Mace. I can't wait to keep reading more books by Daria Quinn.

Quotes that I Loved

"I'm not afraid of you."

"You should be, Little Red."

"Height jokes are beneath you, Mace."

"I like the name."

"Are you the big bad wolf?"

"I'd eat you if you let me."

"Don't fucking touch my wife."

"That's a good girl."

"Now, be a good boy and come for me."

Crossing Lines (The Sentinels #2) by Alexis Gorgun

House sitting for a pop princess should have been easy, decorate her mansion and sew creations alone - in peace. Except Billionaire Evren Kaya just scared me half to death when I thought he was breaking in. Unfortunately, he's my new roommate because his house just flooded. Don't worry, I know his type - entitled and boring. One callous comment from Evren about a viral jacket I made gives me a new goal. Get a licensing deal with a pro football team, maybe even his. Nothing motivates me like spite. But I can't stop thinking about Evren, even though he's too old for me, not my type, and a terrible idea. Crossing Evren's lines must might be my favorite game. Crossing Lines by Alexis Gorgun was published June 2025. This is the second book in The Sentinels series.

I received this book for my honest review from The Smuthood and Alexis Gorgun. This is my first book that I have ever read by Alexis Gorgun so I did not read book one of this series. I was a bit lost at the beginning of the book because I did not read book one. But it didn't overpower the whole book. I just highly recommend reading book one first. I thought the beginning of the book was slow but I think it's more of a slow burn kind of book. Which I am not much a fan of slow burn tropes like some people. The characters I felt like I needed more background info on Evren. I knew a lot about Nina and things that made her the way she is. So I felt like it made the knowledge about Evren seem very small amount. The amount of spice is in this book is very small amount. Which is not a big deal. Though the build up had a lot of fun and made me chuckle so much. I loved the teasing that Nina and Evren did to each other. This book does have some slow scenes but other scenes that keep your attention was worth to keep reading the book. I recommend checking it out.

Quotes that I Loved

"I don't anything, just lie in bed."

"Nothing? No doom scrolling on social media?....No, of course you wouldn't doom scroll. What was I thinking? You probably don't know how to download an app with your advanced age."

"I'm well versed in many things because of my age."

"Oh really?....Like what?"

"Everything you're thinking about, pariltum."

"Watch me while I eat my new favorite food."

"Should I carry you through the house with my fingers buried inside you?"

"Yes, and you're not allowed to remove them until your dick replaces them."

Jungle Buck (SWAK/ Special Forces: Operation Alpha / The Adventures of Buck and Mindy #3) by Margaret Madigan

Two months after her second-run with the Russian Mafia, Dr. Melinda Emerson finally admits she's struggling with PTSD. Her relationships are suffering - especially with her boyfriend Buck McCormick, who's recently moved into her house. She's just decided to get help when she gets a lead on a village in the Amazon where nobody's ever had dementia. Ever. After the disastrous experiment that led to the catastrophe in Siberia, Melinda's determined to refocus her work on a cure for Alzheimer's, so she puts together an expedition to the jungle. Jungle Buck by Margaret Madigan was published in November 2017. This is the third book in The Adventures of Buck and Mindy series.

I absolutely love Buck and Mindy books. They show the true relationship of the characters lives. They don't just glorify a relationship because Buck and Mindy don't have an easy relationship through each book they struggle then come out on top. The characters are well rounded and both have their own faults as well as their own thoughts through out the book. The book had a great flow in it that had few spots where you feel like it dragged on. The smut in this book is very little amount but it's a great romance book that builds up on the last two books in the series. I highly recommend checking out this book.

Unravel Me (Playing for Keeps #3) by Becka Mack

Can he leave the past behind to forge the future he's always wanted? When it comes to dating, Adam Lockwood wouldn't know luck if it hit him in the face. After a failed relationship and a string of dates gone wrong, the thought of being vulnerable with someone is terrifying- most women only see his fame. But when his dog runs into Rosie Wells, a beautiful woman with a blush as pink as her hair, she doesn't seem to have a clue who he is, and Adam seizes the opportunity as a chance to finally be himself. Rosie has her hands full as a single mother and fourth-year veterinary student, and she certainly wouldn't know a hockey player if she ran into one. She doesn't have time to date, and she's fiercely protective of her little family. But when a chance encounter leads her to Adam, she knows it's worth risking her heart. Unravel Me by Becka Mack was published in August 2023. This is the third book in Playing for Keeps series.

I absolutely loved Adam in the first two books in this series. He made me chuckle at how he treated his friends. I thought he was one of the laid back. This book like the others have a great flow in the books it ebbed and flowed. But it was not instant love at first sight. There was lots of build up which is great for this book. I absolutely fell in love with Rosie from the beginning of the story. I felt like her and Adam had a reason to be together. I felt like their personalities fit perfectly with each other. As well as Rosie with the other teammates girlfriends. This book made me smile so much and it was worth reading over and over again. I had a hard time putting it down to take care of my children. Sorry kiddos. The smut in this book is light but it's still there. It isn't off putting and really flowed with the rest of the plot.

Quotes That I Loved

"How else does Voldemort show up here?"

"I, um....I liked walking with you. And talking with you. And eating you. No, fuck."....."Fuck, no, that's not what I ---eating with you. Your sandwiches. Not your..."

"Thing is, Rosie....I don't like to share.......They can't have your noises....They can't have your mouth, the way it opens just for me.....And they sure as shit can't have your eyes.....Because I'm not. Fucking. Sharing."

The Grump Next Door (Steel Brothers of Starlight Cove #1) by Brighton Walsh

Our first kiss was a lie. Our second was a mistake. And the night we spent tangled up in each other? Hot as hell but a complete disaster. Because now Sutton Sinclair - the sharp-tongued troublemaker who left claw marks down my back and a dent in my self-control - is living in my backyard cottage with her teenage daughter. And I'm her goddamn landlord.... The Grump Next Door by Brighton Walsh was published on June 5th, 2025. This is the first book of the Steel Brothers of Starlight Cove series.

First I need to let you know I received this book as an ARC for my honest review. So, I have read a lot of books by Brighton Walsh. I have loved every single one of them that I have read. So when I was given the ARC for one of her new books that was coming out. I was so excited to read it. This book is in the same town as another series that Brighton Walsh has written. So first I will say you will see a lot of the familiar characters from that series in this one. Which I love when authors do that because it gives you a chance to see the characters that you once fell in love with. Also it's an easy way to see how they are doing in the future. Anyways, I absolutely loved this book so much that it was hard to attend to my children. It's summer and they are home. Anyways, this book sucked me in from the first page. The characters in this book are top notch. I think this is actually one of my favorite books from Brighton Walsh. I loved Sutton so much and her teenage daughter. Her daughter actually reminded me of my fourteen year old to a T. Also Atlas in this book cracks me up a lot. He can't make up his mind what he wants but yet assumes people should know. He makes mistakes and is not perfect. Which makes both of the characters well rounded. I swear I will find Starlight Cove on the map and they will live there. That is how real this book seems. The romance in this book was wonderful. It wasn't instant that they fell in love and left on a white horse. No, they had arguments and little fights. They had ups and downs. The smut scenes in this book are tasteful but steamy. They are oh so steamy. I can not wait to read more about Atlas brother's in their own books in the future. I highly recommend checking out this amazing book. Also thanks Smuthood and Brighton Walsh for selecting me for this ARC.

Quotes That I Loved

"Your trouble, aren't you?"

"More like in trouble. But thank you....I just really needed---"

"Anything."

"There was this creepy guy, and he---"

"I'll kill him."

"Doesn't matter. You were chosen by the Kitten Distribution System."

"By the fucking what?"

.......

"Why the hell did the system pick me? I hate cats."

"Stay sexy and don't get murdered."

"I love it when my brat begs."

King of Sloth (Kings of Sin #4) by Ana Huang

Charming, easygoing, and rich beyond belief, Xavier Castillo has the world at his fingertips. He also has no interest in taking over his family's empire (much to his father's chagrin), but that hasn't stopped women from throwing themselves at him....unless the woman in question is his publicist. Nothing brings him more joy than riling her up, but when a tragedy forces them closer than ever, he must grapple with the uncertainty of his future - and the realization that the only person immune to his charms is the only one he truly wants. King of Sloth by Ana Huang was published in 2024. This is book four of the Kings of Sin series. This book was a nominee for Goodreads Choice Award for Romance in 2024.

I absolutely loved the two main characters in this book. We knew a little about Sloan from pervious books because she is friends with their main characters. But Sloan took this book to a women who is strong in her own right. I loved how she had her own background and did not fall head over heels for him. This book had me experiencing so many emotions and ups and downs as well. I absolutely loved the plot in this story that it was easy to see how they slowly fell for each other. Especially when neither of them wanted to. It was not all sunshine and rainbows for sure. There were a few parts that were a little slow but it was easy to over look. The characters are well rounded that it makes you feel like you are in the room with them. I highly recommend checking out this book as well as the series.

Quotes That I Loved

If I ruined my brand-new Stella Alonso dress over this, I'd kill him, bring him back to clean up the mess, then kill him again.

"Just shut up and follow me..."
"Yes, ma'am.....I love a woman in charge."

"You don't know how I taste."
"Not yet."

"I like it better wrapped around my fist."

Rescuing Bryn (Delta Force Heroes #6) by Susan Stoker

When you're a Delta Force soldier, you see a lot. Often too much. But nothing can ever prepare you to see your entire team die before your eyes...The loss of his Delta brothers - and his arm-has Dane "Fish" Munroe still struggling months later. He's moved to Idaho, where an isolated lifestyle is making things worse, not better. Not that there's anyone left to care. Actually, Bryn Hartwell cares. In fact, she tries to surreptitiously make life just a little easier for the mysterious man who comes into the grocery where she works late at night, only to get a tongue lashing for her trouble. Still, he's obviously hurting; someone has to worry about him, spurring Bryn to nurse Dane when he hits a particularly low point. Intrigued by the quirky, kind, socially awkward woman, Dane allows himself to get close to someone for the first time in ages. A potentially epic mistake - because when her interest in the prepper lifestyle puts Bryn in the hands of a homegrown terrorist, losing her could put Dane's mental recovery permanently out of reach. Rescuing Bryn by Susan Stoker was published in 2017. This is book six in the Delta Force Heroes series.

I have read almost all of the books by Susan Stoker. None of which has disappointed me. I love how her books go past their series and you see the characters you fell in love with in all other books. She creates a world that allows other authors to even enjoy and add their own creative minds. In this book, it's a little slow but you are also following to people who are super caution on how they effect the world or each other. I really enjoyed the slow build up in this book. I love how Bryn doesn't want the award for helping but helps in quiet ways. Any way to help Fish out. The nickname Fish is something I could have lived without. But it didn't take away from the book. This book is really sweet and it keeps you reading it. I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read more of this author books.
